What each trust label means
- Verified by venue. The venue has directly confirmed the relevant food or practice.
- Menu evidence. A current published menu or ingredient source supports the label.
- Public record. The place is useful to discover, but its public record is not dietary proof.
- Needs review. Something is incomplete or uncertain, so we show the gap instead of filling it in.
- Last checked recently. The source date is visible so you can judge how current it is.
Can I trust the vegan labels?
Use them as evidence-backed guidance, not a guarantee. BasedBite only qualifies high-confidence, current evidence for the dietary filters. Open the place details to see the source and date, and check with the venue when allergies or cross-contact matter.
How venues can correct information
Venues and visitors can send feedback from a place detail page. A current menu, a direct confirmation, or a note about a change gives the review team something concrete to check.
